QR Journal App Reviews

App works fine for large codes. Read below

Most people have pretty low res isight cameras. If youre trying to read a really small QR code, its not going to happen. The resolution of the non-HD iSight cameras just isnt high enough to make out the details. I tried scanning a vCard QR code and the camera just cant make out the details at the size I have it printed. The 5MP camera on an iphone can make it out. But thats not the apps fault. The app is simple, free, and useful. It would be interesting to see if taking snapshots improves the performance.

It works and its FREE

Works as described without fail. Good job.

不错配合 QR Factory使用正好

正常工作,可以识别,不错

Cool app!!

Micro QR code isnt decoded, in rest the application works perfectly for me. Thanks!

Great QR code app

this is a great app becuase IT DOES EXACLTY WHAT IS SAYS IT DOES. and its free!!!

Works Fine

Used it to scan Bitcoin QR codes on my iMac. Works well and fast.

Doesnt work for me

I have downloaded this and tried to use it several times. It opens fine on my Mac Mini with 10.8 + and chooses the camera (Logitech HD 720p). Whe the scan screen opens I can see the QR code but nothing happens. I tried it with several different sizes of QR codes and tried holding the camera rather than the object with the code.

Select scan and nothing happens

Image shows great and clear on isight, but nothing happens at all. Waste of time.

Nothing works. ZERO STARS

nothing happens when I hit the scan button. I can see the image being "scanned" but I held it up for over 30 seconds. NOTHING. I even placed a stationary document holder so the page was not moving… and NOTHING happened. I dont see how this does anything except attempt to poorly show the object in a video window. There is not any sort of an interpretation going on. Id give it ZERO stars if I could.

Crashed the first time and then wouldn’t reopen

I downloaded this app to use on my Air book running OS 10.9. The first time I used the app, it completed the scan but crashed when I tried to save the data. After that the app crashed repeatedly when I attempted to reopen it. My time from download to uninstall was about 15 minutes.

Quits and won’t scan.

Every time, it never fails to quit as soon as opened. Hard to keep image still and won’t read the code even when still. VERY UNHAPPY :-( WORTHLESS, DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME.

Does its job

It does what it says on the tin. Simple and no fluff. I like that.

Just what I was looking for.

I spent some time trying to find an app that would read a QR code on my iMac or MacBook air without having to use the isight camera. If I receive a QR code in an email, it is usually in the form of a png or pdf file. Spent well over an hour on Google until I came to this app…. Downloaded it and it does exactly what I wanted. Drag the image to the app and it opened the URL correctly. Just great and works… Now to see if there is one like this for the iPad. That would make my day as they say...

Works well. Could use more features.

Scanned what I needed it to, no issues. Would love a way to batch export a selection of scans into a text file (just the contents of the QR, not the image).

How Disappointing!

This app did not actually do anything. I went to the developer’s web site for help and saw instructions, which I had already followed, but what the instructions say will happen never did. I’m glad I didn’t pay anything for this app!

Works for me

Have had this app for about 5 minutes, and so far it has opened both a printed card in front of iSight camera, and has also opened a .png file which was dragged into the interface. Not sure what else I’ll hope it will do, but for now it has passed the printed & digital test.

Doesn’t seem to be able to read QR codes

Other than that, fabulous.

Launches iSight, that’s it

I can see that it sees the QR code but it won’t do anything with it. Seems to be a recurrent problem.

The App that says what is will do and does it.

This program does what it says it will do and has added features such as importing images that you may have taken of a qr code with your iphone, or saving images and the qr converted descriptor for export. The dev has added more functionality that I havent explored but wanted to provide guidance to those having problems because this wasn’t initially easy to accomplish so….. 4 of 5 stars… Here’s why: The issue is that iSight cameras have a good camera, but it will not focus on anything that is too close. So if you try to fill the isight window with the QR code you will accomplish nothing. I realized this by accident because as I pulled hte image back to put it down I saw the screen flicker as it tried to focus on the QR. Holding it up and moving it back to where your face would normally be to take an isight picture and it immediately snapped the picture and identified the QR. Dev should add some guidance in the instructions about this nuance, it would make his app have less of a failure rate with scans.

What?!?

Completely doesnt work, I used this for my classroom ebefore but now it DOESNT WORK FIX NOW.
