This app works great with a Macbook running Lion, its fast, it does what it says.
Easy to use, works great.
Really simple to use about allows you to add notes about the qr code so you can remember why you scanned it. It read my code in less than 3 seconds so super quick. I will suggest it to anyone who needs a scanner for their mac.
I was surprised at how fast it scans. Just hold the code in front of the camera; it will take the picture automatically. Thank-you so much!
bug with maverick
It may work for some. But it doesn’t work for me. Wasted a few minutes holding a QR code in front of the iMac camera, adjusting contrast, etc.
OS X 10.9.1 でまるっきり読みませんでした。 With OS X 10.9.1, this app did not recognize QR at all.
simply in use, has the exact features i need and it is for free! great for amateur use ;)
Tried for a full minute to get a code to work. Would have been faster to open a reader on my phone and copy the url to my computer.
Version 1.0 was great, and 1.1 is even better, with a single click to the target web page in your browser. Just hold up the paper page in front of your camera, click, and youre there. Couldnt be easier!
Searched for QR. Found this one: Free! Downloaded. Scanned. Linked. Didnt even have to fiddle with aim. The app found the QR image and reported the link. Im running Lion on an i5Quad iMac.
Im not sure if the paper it too thin, or what, but it absolutely refuses to read receipts. I could see this as a useful item for someone with QR codes on heavier duty items, but for everyday things like sweepstakes or drawings on receipts, it wont work.
The app works OK on my computer (Mac Pro, 10.6.8) but has a basic flaw shared by similar apps. While its not too hard to hold a smartphone steady while scanning a QRcode, its quite another story when the camera is attached to your computer and you have to hold the page on which the QRcode is printed. The problem seems to be that that the software is trying to scan the QRcode and decode it in real time. Any significant movement of the target while the scanning/decoding is taking place causes errors that prevent correct code recognition. It might work a lot better if the app took "snapshots" of the QRcode at regular intervals so that it could perform its scan and decode on a steady image.
Great app. thank you for your work. This save me time at work, its better than pulling out my phone all the time. Id also like to request that it default to scan mode when open to reduce an extra click. Thank again.
The application is not able to adjust the camera or sharpness of the image. In contrast, using the iPhone it took a sec to scan it.
found a video on an Opera brochure
Clicked Scan button, held up code to camera, nothing happens.
Im an Interactive Designer… what program do I spend most of my time in? TextMate. Why? Because plain text is infinitely useful. Apps like Evernote & OmniFocus are great for spending a lot of time setting up a rich experience. However, when it comes time for me to get work done: I want good ole-fashioned *tools*. This app is great (and deserves all 5 stars) because: just like a hammer, I never have to configure anything to "get the job done." Hi Mr. Nail, meet my friend Hammer – job well done boys. QR code, meet QR Journal. I open this app, scan whatever random QR code I happen to be interfacing with, and before I can even think about what awesome Web4.0 features I think should be added Im manipulating the data I need to scan and getting on with my day. If I misplace/forget the last thing I scanned, its not a problem because this app keeps a record of the data/photo it used which gives me the context of the photo I took.
Downloaded and opened on two different Macs, tried scanning several QR codes, absolutely no result at all. Useless.
